The Cluster for Lightweight Design (Leichtbau-Cluster, LC) is a network of companies, research institutes and service providers dedicated to assist and promote cross-industrial cooperation in the field of lightweight design.

Its goal is to strengthen the power of innovation and competitiveness of the currently more than 100 associated partners (40 % enterprises, 30 % research institutions and 30 % service providers). Among the partners are companies and institutions from the fields of aerospace, automotive, rail vehicle and shipbuilding industry, mechanical engineering as well as plant construction and furniture industry.
