Intellectual Property Institute
The Intellectual Property Institute is an independent public research organisation and charity committed to international evidence-based research in intellectual property law, policy and development. As an Institute of research excellence established for over 30 years, the IPI provides to the intellectual property research community a combination of academic rigour and industry expertise.
IPI’s research programme identifies key structural and policy issues and clusters research activity around these issues and industries. Importantly, as well as reacting to industry, academic and user perspectives on the management and use of intellectual property, this research structure means that individual clusters might identify intersecting and inter-category issues and anticipate emerging areas for attention.
